Glinda the Grumpy

Flying Unicorn is having a 20% sale on all Graphic 45 so I thought I'd use some of the new Ladies' Diary with some older Magic of Oz to create this LO featuring my daughter as the grumpiest Glinda ever!I used the versatile July sketch from my creative sketches for inspiration.

This is my daughter,Naomi, at 18 months, being Glinda for a Fall Costume parade. I can't even remember what made her so darn angry but she was so not full of glitter and bubbles that morning...

To make my letters I used Tattered Angels DieCut alphas and inked them with Ranger "Peeled Paint" and "Tattered Rose". I wanted the colors representing Glinda and Elphaba. The silver is Rub n'Buff-I LOVE this stuff! You can even use it on those inexpensive black plastic frames from Michael's to add a patina or metallic look. I then alternated Crackle on the green with regular Glossy accent on the pink and popped them all back together when dry.
I used a water distress technique to the edges using  metallic watercolors for a shimmery effect with rumpled texture.
I love the sketched balloon on the Fabscrap paper and it soo reminded me of Oz. I highlighted it with Perfect Pearls drops and a Manor House and petaloo bloom with a tassell from Pink Paislee. Thanks so much for stopping by !
