A "Wicked" project and a Fond Farewell...

Happy Tuesday, my scrappy friends!  Today I want to share with you a mixed media page created with Leaky Shed Studio chipboard and products from Altered Pages.

The Graphic 45 and cardstock are from the Altered Pages Store. All the wings on my Flying Monkeys are a combination of stamped and fussy cut images also from their store.
The Theme of our projects is "Fly",so when I saw the gorgeous Emerald City pieces, Elphaba immediately came to mind! "Wicked" is one of my daughter's and my favorite musicals. She assisted me with the creation of the paper doll. The Emerald City chippies are actually part of an album but if you think outside the box,you can much more mileage from the same pieces!

I started my background with a mix of greens and gold gelatos, blended with a  moist paper towel. I then stamped random images using the Muse on a Wing stamp set. The watch part LSS chippies were antiqued using gold Rub n' Buff and smudged with black distress ink. They add the perfect steampunk touch as seen on the Broadway production.

The poppies were created using petals from the Swirlydoo June Flower Add-on. I misted them with Heidi Swapp ink in Primrose until I achieved the desired poppy color. I layered and offset them before hot-gluing them together. The black centers were created with black puffy paint. My stems are Prima crystals from my stash.

We couldn't find the perfect hat so I altered this Harja Flower Chipboard by embellishing it with purple microbeads and a green bling piece. At the top of that picture you can see the town clock created with more of the Watch parts.

Lastly, where would the Witch of the West be without a broom? This one was made by hot gluing Rub n' Buffed dollar store sprays to a body of the Dragonfly Chipboard. Thanks for taking the time to peek at my project! Thank you to Altered Pages for their generosity!

This is also my last Design Team Project with Leaky Shed Studios as my term has ended. I can't say enough great things about the generous owners, the talented DT and the fabulous quality of the Leaky Shed Studio Chipboard. Thank you so much for the opportunity and the fun!

I leave you with some fitting words from "Wicked"...

"It well may be
That we will never meet again
In this lifetime.
So, let me say before we part:
So much of me
Is made of what I learned from you.
You'll be with me
Like a handprint on my heart.
And now whatever way our stories end
I know you'll have rewritten mine
By being my friend."

The corner chippie pieces are the lefttover negative pieces from our generous sponsor,Molossi.
I colored them with gelato and used a rubber musical stamp in white to add another pattern.
Also from Molossi are the gold gems you see scattered throughout the page.

Here you can see how I layers colors and patterns to get variation but keep with the overall color scheme.

The sweet trees and Summer quote are from our sponsor,Jelly Park digi stamps. I chose to cluster and color mine with gelatos.

Swirlydoo's July Kit Second Reveal!

Hello Scrappy friends!
Today I want to share my second reveal with the lovely Swirlydoo's July kit,”Celestial Summer”.

My first project is a page using the apricot tones of the kit:

Using the fabric like SEI paper, I cut out flower layers using my trusted Tattered Florals die and stacked and sewed the layers together

Then I hit them with Perfect Pearl mist and the heat gun, which made the petals curl up-I really like how they turned out!

I created the pleats around the page with just water and paper strips.

Using a prima mask and Distress Inks, I created the shaded Damask background. I liked the distressed whites that the Prima wooden tokens already had, so I left them bare. I adore all the chroceted lace in the kit and used it as a mat for my pic.

My next project uses the wooden tray that the Prima resin fairies came packaged with.

I turned it over and mod-podged the Prima Princess paper. I shaded using the pretty Shimmerz and gesso.

The large Prima flowers were from my stash but I think complement the paper well. I love sparkle so everything gets a little Diamond Stickles!

I need to get more of the chippie alphas because I love the font and how well they take ink.
That’s all I have for today!
Thank you for stopping by and hope you love the kit as much as I do!

Next is a fun canvas created with the Julie Nutting die-cut and stamp set I snagged in the Swirlydoo store.

I chose this saying as a reminder to myself for everytime I tell myself the opposite!
Lots of fun with textures and incorporating the goodies from the kit such as the Prima wooden pieces, the elegant Blue Fern Chipboard and lovely yards of trim!

My last page for today features my daughter and her BFF getting ready for the 8th grade formal. I pulled in some black accents from my stash to complement the color schemes of their outfits.

I just adore the little resin Prima fairies in the kit-loove tucking them in everywhere!
I embossed the Blue Fern chippie in silver then added touches of blue and patina before adding touches of perfect pearls as accents. I embellished and tucked in a little Prima crown for my 2 princesses!

Sharing a card with Leaky Shed Studios

Hello there! Today and I want to share with you a card I created using Leaky Shed Studio chipboard.

I started with the Prima background paper, which I then distressed and layered. I shaded under the Victorian Mirror frame with Tim Holtz Distress Paint in Spun Sugar.

To get the fresco effect on the frame, first I painted the whole surface with tan acrylic paint. Once that was dry,I added various shades of gelatos in brown, peach, pink and blue. I thickly applied Ranger crackle medium and let it sit overnight. Once, dried and crackled,I added Rub n Buff in Patina around my edges and in some of the cracks.

The cross is a combination of two of the shapes in this Cross Set of five. After coloring with gelatos and the same Patina Rub n Buff,I added copper microbeads using Ranger glossy accents and embellished the ends with Viva Copper Pen.I don't make cards very often but I love how the frame is the perfect size and adds an air of elegance!

Thanks for stopping by today!

And here is my inspiration page:

The household item to use is a toothbrush,so I used one to flick the golden splotches on my page. I used red, black and yellow gelatos and used a moistened paper towel to soften the backgound.

I used golden embossing powder on this Leaky Shed Studio chippie.

And of course,I'm never really happy without some Prima blooms..

Swirlydoos Second Reveal with "Rose Bouquet" and Leaky Shed Studio!

Happy Tuesday! Tracey G. here today to share my latest project using the gorgeous and versatile Leaky Shed Studio chipboard and the romantic Swirlydoos June kit,"Rose Bouquet"

These aptly named Ornate Corners are the perfect anchor to give my page a look of elegance.

First I colored the chipboard with 2 different shades of blue with blunt tipped alchohal pens. I then randomly smudged blue, white, gold and coral gelatos. I added stickles in Patina for some extra sparkle!

I played with paper pleating as you can see in this closeup. After running a lace ribbon and some bling, I pleated and used hot glue to hold it in place. I like how it anchors my framed title and draws the eye to my daughter in her lovely gown.

Krissy at Swirlydoos likes to put together fun Off-the-page items and this month she offered us this metal shadowbox frame kit from Prima:

Swirlydoos scrapbook kit club - Prima metal shadowbox frame kit

Using items from the kit and my stash I created this birthday gift for my daughter:

The back of the frame (I think it looks like a little vintage TV) comes off which makes it so easy to glue your background items on!

I love the new Prima lace stickers-so cute and easy! My background is a combonation of older Swirly papers and stamping. The oval frame is from the kit and it was colored with gelatos and a Prima Say it in Crystal.

I used patina embossing powder on this Leaky Shed Studio chippie from my stash.

I topped it with a blue flower cluster and lots of ribbon-just the way I like it!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope I inspired you to create some projects of your own using this beautiful kit!
Have a fabulous day!

That's all I have for today-thank you so much for stopping by and make sure to take a look at the Leaky Shed Studio website and the Swirlydoos store to see these goodies and so much more!
