We would love to see YOU create a layout or mixed media project that represents a new chapter in your life. Whether you have already begun this journey or you are thinking about it, we want to know about it. Sometimes we are forced to start a new chapter for reasons that are beyond our control. Other times we have been anticipating it for a really long time. Perhaps you are only in the beginning stages of this new venture or maybe it's a life long dream and you have been held back by fear. Is your new chapter exciting or sad? Either way, others will be blessed when you share your story.

Linking up your project to the SEM blog will give you an extra entry to win!

There is an optional twist to use book pages, typography, anything that relates to "turning a new page/chapter"-let your creativity out!

We can't wait to see what you create! The blog hop will end on Monday,October 1 at 11:59 PDT but you have up to October 5th, 11:59 PDT to link up your challenge creation to the SEM blog !

Here is mine:
I chose to scrap about my oldest son, Hayden's new chapter. This summer he and his friend went to Haiti on a mission trip. This trip was an awakening to my son. Prior to the trip, things such as how soon he could update his iPhone were his priority. After 10 days of working alongside and caring for the gentle and impoverished Haitian people, with no electricity, no water and no media, his priorities suddenly changed.
He was very impressed with importance of worship in Haiti. Despite the above conditions, the congregation dresses to the nines and the worship is an all-day event. He was struggling to grasp how they could praise God in their struggles. I explained that when you have faith in a promise of eternity with God, the troubles of this life are seen as temporary. Not easy, but temporary.
Soon after his return, our town mourned the loss of a classmate killed in the line of duty in Afghanistan. His former high school classmates gathered together to say goodbye to their brave friend. The combination of these events has led to Hayden seeking to know more about salvation. Soon after, he accepted Jesus as his savior. Whoohoo!
As I was creating this, the song "East to West" by Casting Crowns kept playing in my head.
Hayden is a new and young Christian man in a challenging time. I pray that I am able to support and guide him so that he too will be a
able to keep the faith.

Thanks for joining me!
Your next stop is over at the creative blog of Dolores !

Make sure you also stop by our facebook page for games, conversation and lots of fun! Please don't forget to come back to the SEM blog Monday for the October Challenge and another chance to win a prize!

great layout but the story behind even greater! How awesome for your son! My youngest is looking forward to going on a missions trip when he gets a bit older. My older one really could use that experience as he is so much more self-centered and self-obsessed than the younger one.

So shabby chic and I love the bible verse. The butterflies could look girly but fit well with the way you laid everything out. Touching. TFS!

Wow, such an amazing story and amazing page. It sounds like your son went on a mission trip to change lives and ended up having his own changed. That is such a precious thing!

You must be so proud of the work your son has done, he is a brave young man and so inspiring. It usually takes a lot for a young man to change his priorities so drastically, but clearly this mission has had a profound effect on him. I'm so glad you have the opportunity to scrap these photographs, I am sure as your son gets older they will only become more important to him. They are beautiful photographs.
