I hope all my American friends had a happy Thanksgiving!
If you are reading this on Black Friday, I am getting my Christmas season started, Dunkin Donuts in one hand and flyers in the other! Whoohoo!
Click on the link to see the sketch and the DT's inspiration layouts!
I love the simplicity yet strong graphic element of the sketch, which allows for the range of interpretations!
Here's mine:
Isn't she a cutie? I love this pic of my then-newborn neice so not loving Santa!
I bought waaaay to much Christmas paper last year and am still making layouts with it but love these Kaisercraft Father Christmas and BoBunny Dec 25 papers.
The foliage is all from Michaels and (gasp) the Dollar Store.
That snow? The spray snow in a can.
This is not an only copy of my pic, heirloom type layout
so I just had fun and sprayed the stuff on like misting.
This came out very cool! I started with a Dusty Attic ornament chippie and painted it red, with a crackle medium overlay. Then painted the gold top coat unevenly to help make it look round. I added Ranger crackle on top of it and just-so-lightly used the heat gun to add the little bubbles and make it look like a glass marble. I love the textures!
Then hit it wih some fake snow!
I hope this gives you a little nudge to get creative with this week's sketch!
