The team at ScrapThat! would like to take the opportunity to say thank you to the  amazingly talented designer, Marilyn Rivera, who has been an asset to the team. She will be ending her term this month. We wish her all the best in your future endeavors

Here is my interpretation of the sketch:

I love the versatility of this kit. I have created a totally differnt color scheme using the main kit and the flower add-ons. I altered some of the white Prima flowers by trimming them, lightly misting with Tattered Angels' Cinder mist and edging with Diamond Stickles.
The pic is my sister-in-law with my niece, Vivi, enjoying a gogeous spring day. The alphas are from my stash but everything else is from the kit. Go check out the page for more inspiration! Thanks for stopping by!

I have some things to show you...

This layout was made just with the goodies in the main kit. These BoBunny papers were rich and exotic and I water distressed the edges, then highlighted the wrinkles in Rub n' Buff. I made the flowers out of the black tulle ribbon and ZVA pearls that came with the kit. I will post a tutorial on the flowers later this month. I fussy cut the dragonflies and using the cracked glass tutorial by October GDT member Patti Hamil, created their funky wings. I painted the chipboard with black crackle paint and after inking the edges of the brown ribbon with the kit's Ingrid Bolme ink in Teak Wall, I wove it around the page and highlighted it with more ZVA pearls.

This is my second layout, using the inspired sketch by  DT member Amarilys:

This one is my fave! I used the main kit, the flower and embellishment add-ons and some mixed media from my stash. The frame is a $1 Michael's cheapie that I distressed and attached the Prima doors/shutters to. Aren't the Prima leaves and vintage keys just perfect for this palette?

The Design Team is partnering with Sketchabilities for their upcoming October 30 Sketch Challenge! so be sure to stop back to the Scrap That! blog next week to see the rest of the Design Team's inspiring work with this gorgeous November Kit and the reveal of the Sketchabilities new sketch!!I have another creation to be revealed October 30th-using the same kit with a completely different color scheme..here's a sneak:

Halloween at SOUS !

This Friday's sketch at stuck on u sketches by Nanne is frighteningly perfect for Halloween pics and as our fabulous DT also demonstrates,
it works for everyday pics as well!
It's always fun to see on reveal day how everyone works so differently with the same sketch !

Here is my take on the sketch:

The pic is my daughter at last year's Halloween Dance. She got to dance with her crush and declared it."The best day in my life..well,so far." Love this kid!
The papers are the new Echo Park and can be found at the Flying Unicorn Store.
To accent her spooky fairy costume [had to be cool this year, of course], I used the Cricut oldie but goodie "A Child's Year" cart to make the little matching fairy. I made the wings by adding embossing powder and glamour glitter to fussy cut butterfly wings and let that harden. Then I added chunky embossing powder till I achieved the ghost effect.

Using the cracked glass tutorial found by Patti Hamil on the Scrap That! blog, I created the cracks in the wings and on the fussy cut title as well. I love the vintage-distressed look it creates!
Thanks for checking out my page and be sure to check out the rest of the DT's creations. Link up your own wicked awesomeness and you might be one of our Top 3 Picks and snag that honor badge for your blog! Happy Halloween!

SEM October Sketch Challenge!

Hi there! Scrapping Everyday Miracles just posted our October Sketch Challenge. The lovely and talented Einat is this month's host. Here is the sketch coutesy of Page Maps:

There is a twist of course: Since this is the season of the Jewish New Year the twist will be to use red or green colors and shades on your layout (like the colors of an apple).

Here is my layout:

I am blessed to live in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts, where the fall foliage is second to none. I spotted these stunning red bushes on the way home and pulled over to snap some pics. My daughter started playing around and posing and as a result I have some great shots! I came across this older BoBunny paper and thought it was a perfect match! I layered it over some FabScraps and the sweet bird is from a K and Co. Christmas package. The frame is a cheapie from Michaels that I crackled and distressed then highlighted with Rub n' Buff.
I included the scripture from Corinthians because my daughter just exudes hope and love and strives to have a positive attitude when things get hard. I love her playfulness and flexibility and this pic really captures her essence.
So, pop on over to SEM and see what the rest of the DT created.
We would love to see your interpretation of the sketch and it will enter you into a chance of winning this mini-kit from Boys Rule :

Link up your art to the SEM Blog by October 31st-I can't wait to see what you create!

Happy Friday! New SOUS posted!

Happy Friday, my scrappy friends !
Fridays at Stuck on U sketches always means a new sketch challenge and this week's versatile sketch is by our very own Nanne!

Here is my interpretation:

I used the new Prima Craftsman papers and other goodies from the Flying Unicorn October Kit of the Month. Lots of misting and masking and stamping. The metal butterflies come with the kit and I altered them with my new favorite product, Rub n' Buff, in antique gold and patina. The punches are all Martha Stewart accented by Vivi pearl pen in Bronze.
The pic is my daughter and her sister after a soccer game. They complained that their hair was awful, but I just love that they are so happy and relaxed with each other.
So, go to the Stuck on U Sketches page and see what the other DT members have created.
Then we can't wait to see what you dream up!
Have a Blessed day!

Scrapping Everyday Miracles-Miracles of Fall Challenge

I am excited to share with you my first Inpiration Layout as a new member of the Scrapping Everyday Miracles Design Team !
This month's main challenge is called The Miracle Of Fall-check out the details and what you could win here: Challenge #21.
Fall is my favorite time of the year and the most beautiful season here in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts!

It is inspired by my favorite Godspell song,"All Good Gifts".
The lyrics are:

We plow the fields and scatter the good seed on the land..
But it is fed and watered by God's almighty hand..
He sends us snow in winter, the warmth to swell the grain...
The breezes and the sunshine, and soft refreshing rain...

We thank thee then, O Father, for all things bright and good,
The seedtime and the harvest, our life our health our food,
No gifts have we to offer for all thy love imparts
But that which thou desirest, our humble thankful hearts!

All good gifts around us
Are sent from Heaven above..
Then thank the Lord, thank the Lord for all his love..

The picture is of 3 of my children and my adopted daughter's biological sister that she was reunited with last fall. The spot is our favorite pumpkin patch in Vermont where they have have been coming since my oldest was about 5. I love how the layout of the pumpkins resembles a cross! As I look at this, I am thankful for so much of the beauty and bounty of the season and how much God has blessed me with. Simple traditions like this weave a tapestry across the years of watching my family grow and change, yet remaining connected. I would love to see your creaions and what blessings you have this fall season!

I leave you with a video of this lovely song of praise and thanksgiving...

Have a blessed day!
