Scrapping Everyday Miracles Challenge #24

Hit play for the Background Song:

Hi there! It's time for the January Main Challenge at Scrapping Everyday Miracles.
Svetlana is hosting and here is some of what she has to say:

Life is not always filled with smiles and laughter - sometimes there is time when we feel sad and our hearts are broken. But it doesn't matter how big our problems are, God is always near to lift us up and give us hope.
This month’s challenge is to scrap about a "not-so-happy" moment in your life.
The scrap twist is to include a bird on your project. To me it is a symbol of freedom. We can choose to be free by receiving peace from the Lord into our hearts in any circumstances.

We will choose 3 projects to be featured on Scrapping Everyday Miracles blog and one of you might become our next Guest Designer.
Please link up your projects by January, 31 11:59pm PST.
*Important: Make sure your link is to the blog post with your project & not just your blog in general...and be sure to remember the SCRAP TWIST!

Here is my page:

This is my son,Austin, captured as he reflects on his childhood ornaments that he had just hung upon the tree. Austin graduated this past June, no small feat given his multiple learning disabilities. Unfortunately,he has chosen to move out, a choice that breaks my heart. He is pursuing enlisting in the Navy, something that would be good for him, but at the moment he is stagnant in his life choices and choosing the easiest way, but far from the best way. I encorporated the Bird twist with a masking/misting so that the bird can be seen flying away from home.

"I pray that God would fill your heart with dreams
And that faith gives you the courage
To dare to do great things
I'm here for you whatever this life brings
So let my love give you roots
And help you find your wings "

WOW Tracey, this is such a heart warming layout, and yet a little sad!! Sometimes it's so hard for us to let our children spread their wings even after they graduate from high school.. We can only pray that they've learned well from our teachings. But as parents we can't help but worry!! I felt the same way with my daughter!! Hugs!!!

So sorry that your son is choosing a road that brings you pain. With the Lords protection and leading, however he will hopefully find his way back, and learn many valuable lessons along the way. Hugs my friend xoxo

Praying that Austin would follow the Lord's leading and that you would be comforted at this time. Beautiful layout.
