This month's theme is "Home is Where the Heart Is" and the scrap twist is to use a tag or journal block to tell your story. Check out all the details here.
Here is my page:
This is me, my Senior year of High School in 1986 on the front steps of what will always be the place I remember as "home." Prior to moving here we moved about every year or so until landing in this simple house in Swansea, Massachusetts. This where my brother was born in 1978 and the only house he knew while growing up. As I look back at picture of relatives that I loved and lost sitting in that living room and gathered around the Christmas tree, I reflect on what a blessing this house was. It gave me a center, a safe haven and eventually, a place I had to leave. The swing in the backyard was used by myself,my brother and then my sons. While I was 3 hours away, raising my family, the time came for my parents to move on and buy their own place on the Cape. They were moved out before I could say goodbye to my home and it still saddens me. Whenever I hear this song, it brings me right back to that place and wishing I could just walk around one more time. "Won't take nothing but a memory, from the House that built me."
So what about you? Where do you call Home?

Oh this is such a beautiful layout Tracey, and so nostalgic... I can understand how you feel as the place where I grew up was my dad's farm which was sold 10 years ago this year.. I still miss it... I wish I could go visit it but other people own it now... and my Dad regrets selling it so much that I try not to bring up the topic of the farm as his eyes show the pain... so what a special place 'home'is...
