You will be missed.
We wish you luck on your new endeavors!

Now, without further ado....

Introducing our June Kit,
 "From Sunrise to Sunset"

Featuring the designs of the fabulous Anna Dabrowska (a.k.a. Finnabair) we present a  collection of rich colors and designs that run from brights to neutrals. Whatever your scrapping style is, you will love this kit that is just chock-full of Prima goodies!

Take a look:

Main Kit

Paper Add-On

Flower Add-On

 Embellishment Add-On

First up is a clean and simple, sunny page made with only items from the main kit:

Other than some light misting, I didn't add much to the background because it already was so full of inky fun and textures! The pic is our team for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's Great Strides event. It's so wonderful to see family and friends come out and support CF research. With advances in medication and treatments made every day, our goal is to find a cure! Every year, we get specially designed T-Shirts and this year they were orange-how perfect for this kit!

Next up is my favorite, using the Main Kit and add-ons:

Look at those cute baby cheeks!Lots of mixed media fun here!
Misting,masking,distressing,gessoing,stamping..you name it, I did it.
I followed the Prima BAP sketch for inspiration and will be showing you my BAP on this page later in June.

Look at the beautiful sketch Amarilys has created for June:

Here is my interpretation, using the Main Kit and Add-ons:

I wanted to show the neutral side of the collection. The Prima zipper and the ribbons are from my stash. I used the Prima packaging as a mat and a Prima mask to make the Texture paste flowers ( hard to see behind the paper flowers). I love the sweet little metal butterflies from Maya Road and the crinkly gems, both in the Add-ons. So, if your style is more neutral, the backsides of the brighter paper offer that versatility!

See details about the sketch challenge here: Sketch Challenges
We have something new for June!
In addition to Amy's sketch challenge,
other members of the DT will also be hosting challenges!
Check them out here.
  • Laura's Challenge: "Using a long title"
  • Sandi's Challenge: "Color Challenge"
  • Tracey S.'s Challenge: "Use a stencil"
My challenge is "Scrap Outside Your Comfort Zone"
and here is my inspiration page:

Using the main kit, the add-ons and various odds and ends from my stash, this is my example page. My normal style is flowery and shabby-chic and the "same-old" was getting stale for me. With these fun papers, I decided to just play with mixed media and darker color ala Finnabair. I created flowers with the brown ribbon from the Main Kit and deconstructed the larger zipper flower. Technique-wise, a lot of everything is thrown in here. I haven't decided if I love it or not, but it was fun to try something different. My scrappy goal this year is to scrap more of me, so in the gist of the movie title, I present: "This is 45."

Everyone is welcome to participate in the challenges.

You do not have to use ScrapThat! kits for your entries.
Entries for all challenges are due by Wednesday, June 26.

New SOUS Challenge!

Happy Friday all my scrappy friends!
Time for a new sketch challenge so go to Stuck on U Sketches and check it out!

Here's what I created with it:

One of my first projects when I started scrapping was creating a Sports album for my son. I started with pee-wee soccer and T-Ball at age 4 and his sports pics for every season through high school. Then I got sidetracked...he is a Senior in college and this is from Junior year of High School..so with this awesome sketch I present the shortest career in Hockey ever. Hayden always played basketball in the winter and the winter of his Junior year he told me that he and his good buddy were going to play hockey. Neither one of them had EVER played hockey. They borrowed equipment, drove themselves to the 5 am practices and between the both of them, maybe they had 30 minutes of playtime the whole season. They had a blast! I didn't understand at the time, but I think they loved being able to play a sport with no expectations, since both of them are talented athletes which produces pressure to perform at their Varsity levels. I have circulation issues and fibro but made every game for those 5 minutes of play time. These pics will always make me smile.

Thanks for stopping by and we would LOVE to see what you create with the sketch! Give it a try and link up here for a chance to win a snazzy "Top 3" badge!

Scrapping Everyday Miracles May Sketch Reveal!

Helen is hosting May's layout and card sketch at Scrapping Everyday Miracles. Click on the link to check out the sketches. Here is what she has to say :

Helen's here with the May Sketch Challenge! We're so excited to celebrate the National Scrapbooking Month with you and we're gonna have fun creating scrapbook layout and card. We  have a LAYOUT SKETCH and a CARD SKETCH for you to choose what you want to create. You can do both of sketches, or just one. You will get 1 entry in the PRIZE drawing for each sketch you complete.

The SCRAP TWIST that needs to be included on your project is CIRCLE ELEMENTS, for example flowers, doilies, circles, etc.

I chose to do the layout:

I had lots of inky fun making my circles using a paper towel tube, bubble wrap and a steel sponge.  The chippie is from my generous RAK from ScrapFX-I painted it in an purple ombre and added glossy accents for dimension. This pic is from my daughter's adoption portrait shoot at 2 years old. She was a foster child that I have been blessed to have since she was 3 days old. Since there is no certainty with foster care, I used to sing her the song "You'll be in my heart" from Tarzan.

Come stop your crying
It will be all right
Just take my hand
Hold it tight
I will protect you
From all around you
I will be here
Don't you cry
For one so small,
You seem so strong
My arms will hold you
Keep you safe and warm

This bond between us
Can't be broken
I will be here
Don't you cry

When destiny calls you
You must be strong
I may not be with you
But you've got to hold on
They'll see in time
I know
We'll show them together

[Chorus]
'Cause you'll be in my heart
Yes, you'll be in my heart
From this day on
Now and forever more
You'll be in my heart
No matter what they say
You'll be here in my heart, always

So, try your hand at either sketch and link it up  by May 31st, 11:59pm PST.

**You may submit the project you create for Scrapping Everyday Miracles  to other challenge blogs but your project must be mainly created for the Scrapping Everyday Miracles challenge in order to win the sponsor prize and/or be one of the Top 3**

*Important: Make sure your link is to the blog post with your project & not just your blog in general...and be sure to remember the SCRAP TWIST!

Stuck on U Sketches Reveal!

It's Friday and time for another great sketch challenge from SOUS. This week's sketch comes to us from our very own Leah Schaffer. Check it out here:May 10th sketch of awesomeness

I turned it on it's side and created this:

The pic is of the talented miss Abby Kline, who I swear has the longest legs I've ever seen! I used water distressing for the rumpled edges and pinned them back with a thrift store broach. A tute for the little flowers is here. Both broaches were gold before I hit 'em with Rub n'Buff Silver. The beautiful title is from Scrap FX. I was lucky enough to win a Blog Hop RAK and they were very generous. Here are some closeups:

Be sure to check out the rest of the SOUS DT creations, then try your hand at this sketch yourself. Submit it here  and you just might be picked as a Top 3 and score a spiffy Blog Badge of Honor!

Scrapping Everyday Miracles-May Challenge

It's a new month already and at Scrapping Everyday Miracles, that means it's time for our new main challenge! Tracey S. is hosting this month and here's what she has to say:

Hi it’s Tracey here to share our May challenge with you. Spring is my favorite time of the year with new life springing up all around me. A verse I learned many years ago at vacation bible school is 2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” It’s a verse I often reflect and meditate on. I find that my life is constantly changing, and our Lord wants me to put away the old things and embrace the new.

For this month’s main challenge we would like you to share a project that represents something new in your life. You can reflect on a new relationship, a new phase of life, an event that brought change into your life, a new job, hobby, volunteer opportunity, or even a book or Scripture verse that has given you new insight. God blesses us with everyday miracles sometimes big and sometimes small that bring change and new opportunities to our lives. Your project doesn’t need to be about a recent event, but needs to represent something new in your life.

Scrap Twist: Use something on your project that is more than a year old – the older the better, “and” something new to you in 2013. These supplies may be purchased, given to you, or even found objects. Be sure to tell us in your project blog post what these supplies are.

Here is my layout:

For new supplies, I have used new Tattered Angels mist, jewels, stencil and  Prima butterflies and flower from my May ScrapThat! Kit. It is chock-full of all the latest from the Prima Divine line! Check it out here:May ScrapThat! Kit. Everything else is old. I have been holding on to this Prima Rondelle paper forever! I made the felt roses using my spellbinders die. The other flowers were created using Tim Holtz tattered florals die. The oldest things on my layout are the pieces of lace from my stash. I used terra-cotta molding paste for the background and of course, everything gets gessoed.

My new resolution is to be in front of the camera more often. Like most scrappers, I am always the one behind the camera. My daughter wanted to do a "photoshoot" of me for a change and this pic is one of the results. She loved it! I need to focus less on the negative influences that trap me into thinking that I am older, fatter and no pictures should document that. God loves us just as He made us. If God says we are worthy to be loved, who are we to disagree?

Our May Sponsor is:
We started BlueMoonscrapbooking.com 7 years ago hoping we could create a platform that our whole family could participate in. In addition, we wanted to do business the old fashioned way with an emphasis on those things that would let a customer know, "we value your choice to shop with us, thank you". Finally, we wanted to add perspective to the buying decision with video. As online shoppers, we knew it was sometimes hard to tell from the picture, what the product looked like. So we started posting scrapbooking product videos so you could "see" what you were buying. With almost 1,000 YouTube videos, we have been able to feature great scrapbooking companies like Graphic 45, Prima, Crate Paper and Memory Box. An online store located in sunny Tucson, Arizona we ship to customers in the US and all over the world. $50.00 Orders that are shipped in the US receive Free shipping everyday!  Our family at BlueMoon looks forward to you stopping in and shopping with us!
