Riddersholm and Carpetbag Flower Tutorial

Hi there! I wanted to share another layout made with the beautiful Riddersholm Huntington's Garden collection available at the Flying Unicorn Store.
This one features my Pastor's daughter,
Abby in some serious chocolate heaven (no pun intended).
This is the face her mom saw in the rearview mirror and just had to snap a pic.

I did very little inking because I just loved the papers the way they were. I kept the Pink Paislee letters bare too-a nice contrast to that cute messy face-lol! I managed to get 6 layers of paper with 3 sheets of paper by strategically cutting the inner perimeter of each, then restacking them. I cut many little butterflies out of a sheet and staggered them among the images on the primary sheet.

Now about the flowers..I love shopping at thrift store
and picked up 2 books of carpet samples at the Goodwill.
Wasn't sure what I would use them for but they were only $2.00 each so I got them,
I made cardstock samples of flower patterns off my Cricut Flowershoppe cartridge and traced and cut 3 different patterns out of 3 different carpet samples.

Then I mixed and matched and stacked until I liked the combinations.
The brads I used to secure them are very old Martha Stewart travel themed canvas brads that I misted with bronze Tattered Angels mist. I like the look of them and think they give appropriate weight and texture to my many layered layout.
Thanks for peeking and have a blessed day !
