Our Blog Hop features 9 fantastic blogs including our Design Team.
We have been scrapping away and are so excited to show you our  creations!
This is my first layout made with just the goodies in the Main Kit:
Lots of fussy cutting, and dimension to this one. I will be doing a tutorial on the Antiqued Butterflies I made with my spanking new Cuttlebug. I love, love this Prima line and the kit has the most perfect romantic embellishments.

Here is my Layout based on Amy's sketch and made with the Main Kit, the flower add-on and the embellishment add-on:

I wanted to create a layout to resemble a pin up board full of collected notes and treasures. How sweet are those angels? Almost as sweet as my little girl :)

So, having used up all but one of my flowers and wanting to go in a different style direction,
I went with a neutral based layout:

Using lots of gesso and my Cuttlebug gave me texture and dimension. The Basically Bare hearts were fun to emboss! The doily and alpha are from my stash.

"Be Still and Know that I am God" Mixed Media

This is my first mixed media creation. I wasn't quite sure how to begin but armed with Gabrielle's Tutorial and inspiration from Karin Sandy I jumped in. My husband and I faced a health crisis this weekend. I was praying and painting and this was the result.

How often do we try to take on all the stressors in the world and forget to hand over our worries to God ?
We are told to "be anxious for nothing" in Phillipians 4:6, yet I continue to find myself anxious about so many things. We are so busy trying to run our busy lives that we forget to slow down and honor Him. This now hangs in my bedroom so it is the first and last thought of the day. Our Pastor ended a message one Sunday in a way I would like to share with you.

Be Still and Know That I Am God

Be Still and Know That I Am

Be Still and Know That

Be Still and Know

Scrapping Everyday Miracles Sketch Challenge!

Happy Monday! Today is the day of our Sketch Challenge reveal over at
Scrapping Everyday Miracles !
This month's sketch was designed by our very own Marjolaine-check it out here: Marjolaine's awesome sketch. The twist is to use Fussy Cutting !

Here is my take on the sketch:

I fussy cut all the little banners in my cluster. Behind the pic is a Snowflake made from flower-soft. I tried to create a cozy feeling to the page about my daughter and I and our Friday night tradition of "Girls' Night Out." It's definitely a misnomer because we actually stay IN and open up the couch bed and watch chick flicks. She is now a "tween" and I don't know how many of these nights I will have left. As cool as I am, the older she gets, it seems I am losing the coolness factor.
I thank God for my beautiful girl and the simple joy that comes from just being with her and forgetting about the stresses of life for a night. Since the Sandy Hook tragedy,I think we all hold our kids a little tighter and say a prayer of thanks to our God.

So true

We hope you will join us this month for this sketch challenge and as usual the prize is great!
You have until January 30 at 11:59 pm to link up your layout.

SOUS Reveal Day !

Happy Friday! Time for the latest Stuck on U Sketch reveal!
This fun sketch is by our own Nanne. If you havent seen it,
then check it out here: Nanne's Awesome Sketch

Here is my take on it:

We are trying to use scraps for the January Layouts, so everything on my page has been in my stash for at least 6 months or longer. The papers are all 7 Dots Wonderland except for the Fabscrap mat that I embossed with my new Cuttlebug from Santa. Not being much of a banner fan, I swapped it out for a swag of laces and flowers.

The nameplate chipboard is from a Scrap365 Rak and is by Tando Creative. Of course, it was Rub n' Buffed and hit with Perfect Pearls.

The pic is from a mini-photo shoot with my daughter. At 12 1/2, she has the Tween issues of appearance and I want her to know that she is beautiful, both inside and out. I want her to Always Believe (in yourself).

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see your creations!

So here is what I made with just the main kit:

The pic is my daughter several years ago, playing under the tree. I made the flowers using my McGill Lily punch, lots of glamour dust and perfect pearls.

See the bottle cap tucked in there? I added a sticker and topped with glossy enamel.

This is one inspired by Amy's sketch:

This is my newlywed friends in their Mary and Joseph roles during our church's Living Nativity. Since this is also their first Christmas as a married couple, I thought "The First Noel" was a fitting title.

Using some Dusty Attic (not in the kit but available during special orders from ScrapThat!), I coated it with copper leaf, then highlighted random areas with Patina Rub-n-Buff. I finished it off with a Ziva pen in copper. You can see I went for a deep distressed look as I loved the contrast of the "wood" with the "night sky" and the rustic nature of the nativity scene.

Here is my 3rd layout of my Neice, Vivi, enjoying her second winter, but first time playing in the snow !

This was inspired by a sketch from Scrap 365 magazine.
I used snow-tex and glamour dust for the
sparkly snow and posted a BAP on this page on the blog for Jan 2 if you want to see all the details.
Thanks for stopping by and can't wait to see what you create!

Scrapping Everyday Miracles Challenge #24

Hit play for the Background Song:

Hi there! It's time for the January Main Challenge at Scrapping Everyday Miracles.
Svetlana is hosting and here is some of what she has to say:

Life is not always filled with smiles and laughter - sometimes there is time when we feel sad and our hearts are broken. But it doesn't matter how big our problems are, God is always near to lift us up and give us hope.
This month’s challenge is to scrap about a "not-so-happy" moment in your life.
The scrap twist is to include a bird on your project. To me it is a symbol of freedom. We can choose to be free by receiving peace from the Lord into our hearts in any circumstances.

We will choose 3 projects to be featured on Scrapping Everyday Miracles blog and one of you might become our next Guest Designer.
Please link up your projects by January, 31 11:59pm PST.
*Important: Make sure your link is to the blog post with your project & not just your blog in general...and be sure to remember the SCRAP TWIST!

Here is my page:

This is my son,Austin, captured as he reflects on his childhood ornaments that he had just hung upon the tree. Austin graduated this past June, no small feat given his multiple learning disabilities. Unfortunately,he has chosen to move out, a choice that breaks my heart. He is pursuing enlisting in the Navy, something that would be good for him, but at the moment he is stagnant in his life choices and choosing the easiest way, but far from the best way. I encorporated the Bird twist with a masking/misting so that the bird can be seen flying away from home.

"I pray that God would fill your heart with dreams
And that faith gives you the courage
To dare to do great things
I'm here for you whatever this life brings
So let my love give you roots
And help you find your wings "
          -Mark Harris

SOUS New Sketch Reveal !

Okay-first press play on the video below..go ahead..just for the background music..

So,welcome to the latest Stuck on U Sketches reveal!
If you didn't come here from the blog, then pop over to see Nanne's creative sketch.
Cool, right? Here is my take on it:

I decided not to take the winter theme since I've just completed a multitude of winter pages and wanted to see something green. That's how versatile sketches are!
This is my daughter,Naomi, climbing the tree in our Pastor's yard. She is at that age of 12 where she vaccilates between wanting to act grown up and moments like this where she still says,"Mom,look at how high I am!" So this song fits perfectly with this pic-the lyrics on the page read:

" I gotta have
roots before branches
To know who I am
before I know who
I wanna be "

The papers are all from Fabscraps and flowers are a hodgepodge of all the green flowers I could find. I tucked in some moss for the organic feel.

I left the Dusty Attic vine bare except for the Patina Stickles to highlight the leaves. The butterflies are crackled and the whole thing is misted all over the place!
Thanks for stopping by and I'm looking forward to seeing what you will create!
Happy Friday !

ScrapThat! BAP

Today I am going to share with you a Build-A-Page featuring the January ScrapThat! Kit filled with frosty inspiration from BoBunny's Powder Mountain Collection. The layout is based on a sketch from Scrapbook 365 magazine and everything on the page is from the kit with Flower and embellishment add-ons. Not from the kit but so cute is the stitched snowflake that was a RAK from a dear friend.

I then added the ribbon in the kit in strips to make a small tree topped by  BoBunny trinket snowflake. I covered one of the berries from the December ScrapThat! kit in the snow mixture and adhered to look as if Vivi is launching her snowball. To finish it off I added random clusters of BoBunny jewels and highlighted the background snowflakes with 3d pearl drops. There you have it! Thanks for stopping by and hope I inspired some creativity today!
